RAID 5:  Smart Protection and Optimal Data Access
NVIDIA's MediaShield RAID technology implements RAID 5, one of the most popular RAID levels in industry.  Data is striped and parity is distributed across three or more drives.  This allows for an ideal case of improving disk performance and providing fault tolerance, with a minimum usage of 3 disk drives.

NVIDIA's MediaShield RAID technology also includes RAID 1 fault-tolerant capabilities. RAID 1 disk mirroring enables one disk to serve as a hot standby for another disk, providing protection in the event of disk failure and ensuring high-availability access to mission-critical data. NVIDIA's MediaShield RAID disk mirroring solution achieves fault tolerance while also delivering high-performance reads and writes.
